In my years of experience as an entrepreneur, I’ve seen many people started learning how to build a business but didn’t actually get it done.

There are some who tried to become entrepreneurs and shut down their businesses due to a series of failures.

While others want to succeed in the entrepreneurial scene the first time without trial and error.

And it’s easy to see why they think this way.

Learning how to build a business itself is already difficult. It’s even worse when you don’t have any experience in sales and marketing.

You’ll encounter a lot of words that are foreign to you like ad spend, sales funnels, consumer behavior, etc…

You have to study different aspects of entrepreneurship before you start your own business.

It also goes without saying that mastering various skill sets is vital to your success as an entrepreneur.

Because you need to have a good foundation and understanding of being an entrepreneur first.

And when you’re ready to start one, here’s the real game begins.

You’ll start to think about how to manage your budget to keep your business up and running.

You’re going to spend an incredible amount of effort and time in sales and marketing.

Figuring out an offer that your target market wants will be your breakfast every day. Take the irresistible offer from the equation and your efforts will go in vain.

Plus, you have to deal with customer feedback, responses, comments, and complaints about your business.

If you put all these on paper, someone who doesn’t have experience in business will get easily overwhelmed.

This leads to them wanting an easy way out — a process where they can get rich quick without experiencing failures.

However, I would be a liar if I told you that there’s one where you can succeed without trial and error.

Because there really isn’t.

In order to achieve success in any business, you have to put in your energy and concentration in the process.

You’re going to invest time and money in learning your craft, creating your offers, and promoting your brand.

And most importantly, you’ll face tons of trial and error along your journey like many successful people in history.

Like Bill Gates who was a college dropout.

His entrepreneurial journey began by co-owning a business called ‘Traf-O-Data’ with his partner, Paul Allen.

Unfortunately, the product didn’t function as expected — resulting in shutting down their business.

But that didn’t stop Bill Gates from opening new windows until he created his first Microsoft offer. Which is eventually will be one of the most successful technology companies in the world.

Another big tech guy Steve Jobs is also not a stranger to failures.

Steve Jobs founded Apple in his 20s which is a pretty impressive feat for that age. But at the age of 30, the board of directors decided to fire him.

He then started another business called NeXT that will be later acquired by the very company he built. This took him back to the CEO position of Apple.

Walt Disney, who is the creator of many childhood dreams and memories, also has a story to share about failure.

Walt Disney had once worked in a Missouri newspaper and was fired because he is not “creative enough”.

Not accepting defeat easily, he started his first animation company called Laugh-O-Gram but eventually was forced to close due to the closing of a distributor partner.

This led him to Hollywood where he faced even more criticisms until his creations topped the charts in popularity.

There are still a lot of ‘failure to success’ stories out there but I guess the stories above just prove that failure is part of the equation.

Challenges will test your determination and willingness to succeed. And in return for your perseverance, you will be rewarded with things that you can only imagine.

So the next time you feel confused and uncertain about yourself, stop overthinking. Just take action and trust the process and you’ll achieve success eventually.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the next Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, or other successful people in history. 🙂

I hope this helped you remove your fear of failure so you can start forging your path to success today.

  • I am so determined to succeed that I was up at 5am this morning and have worked all day at resurrecting all the hard work that I did last year. Problems got in the way but I am soooo determined to succeed.
